The Selk’nam, also known as the Onawo or Ona people are an indigenous people in the Patagonian region of southern Chile and Argentina, including the Tierra del Fuego islands. They were one of the last aboriginal groups in South America to be reached by Westerners in the late 19th century, when the Chilean and Argentine governments began efforts to explore and integrate Tierra del Fuego (literally, the “land of fire” based on early European explorers observing Selk’nam smoke from their bonfires). …hoy lunes, me toca comenzar a trabajar en USA… Hoy, no puedo dejar de pensar en como me sentía hace 16 años atrás, el día previo a comenzar la Universidad en Chillán, en una ciudad desconocida, solo y sin amigos. Y ahí estaba yo esa noche pensando que solo tenía mi cerebro, mis manos y mis convicciones para cambiar al mundo; en ese tiempo jamás pensé que esas armas podrían llevarme tan lejos… ¿donde estaré y como pensaré en 16 años más sobre esta mismo momento?… al igual que esa noche, no lo se, solo se que aún tengo mi cerebro, mis manos y mis convicciones intactas, esta rueda ya dio una vuelta y ahí vamos una vez más!!! que tiemblen las fuerzas del destino!!! :D
